Did you know there are MANY different reasons you experience cravings for food and/or sugar on a daily basis?

I was shocked to discover this myself as I dove deep into my own emotional connection to food and understanding my cravings over the past 4 years.

And today I want to share with you the top 3 reasons I see so many struggling with cravings.

But first I have to share something. I feel so blessed and lucky in this moment.

Monday night’s workshop was INCREDIBLE! I was just blown away by the incredible 50 + women who showed up live or watched the replay and committed to putting in the work this week to finally kick there emotional connection to food once and for all. (I feel like a proud mama duck!)

OK… Back to those darn cravings!

Among all of the reasons we crave foods, these are the top 3 that I see ALL of my clients struggle with.

Habit or routine – for many of us we’ve been taught to use food in many different situations every day. Whether it’s having dessert, kicking off a Friday night with a glass of wine, or reaching for that mid-morning muffin as a snack…

  1. Low energy – When we’ve had a busy day or used a lot of energy in a day and are feeling tired, our bodies know that the quickest form of energy is sugar… so it sends us signals to reach for that sweet pick me up without us even understanding why.
  2. Our emotional connection to food – this is single handedly the BIGGEST factor at play for everyone I talk to. We all have an emotional connection with food and use it to help us escape or alter our emotional state everyday.

So, my question for you is this — which of these (or other) possible sources of cravings resonate with you the most?

This awareness is POWERFUL in helping create lasting change and finally build that healthy relationship with food.

Love & Light,

Dani
