How’s that for a title?

And the funny thing is that as I sit here and write this, I’m not sure that I really love myself.

I’m in a very strange place this week. Emotionally. Mentally. Physically. Energetically.

As I say goodbye to a life and a home in Victoria and transition into a new period of adventure and home freedom, I’m finding myself more emotional than usual.

I’m facing new fears and my own insecurities this week. And it’s uncomfortable.

But I know that’s OK. I know that’s to be expected with such big changes happening for me.

And you know how I thrive (although sometimes it’s just surviving) during these crazy times in my life?

By prioritizing my self-care. 

I am SO GLAD that I chose the theme of self-care this month inside the Sugar Freedom Collective. I know I’m not the only one needing a little extra love this month!

I know it’s something we ALL need to practice and build more of into our lives.

I’m so thankful that this is one thing that I’ve learned to put first in my life. My self-care. By looking after myself first, I’m able to show up for those around me. I’m able to be a better coach. I’m able to be a more loving partner and friend. I’m a happier person and spread that joy and light into the world around me.

This is WHY self-care is so key in our lives.

And the truth of the matter is that self-care is just an act of self-love.

And self-love is a whole other journey. To really learn to love all of ourselves. Our chubby pieces. Our insecurities. Our crazy personalities. All of it. 

I’m by no means totally there yet. Wherever “there” is. 

I still struggle with loving myself fully. Especially this week for some reason. 

But I do know that by prioritizing my self-care on a daily basis, I am rewiring my brain and taking one step at a time in the right direction.

So, whether you’re facing a huge life-altering shift or you’re gearing up for a busy and stressful holiday season, remember to put yourself first.

To prioritize at least 10 minutes for YOU every single day. To say no to things that you don’t really want to do or have the energy for. And to look after yourself in a way that truly shows love and nourishment to your mind and body.

You deserve it.
